About us
Arkiv & Co is a Swedish design studio that develops architectural garden objects. Our objects are designed and produced in small series where industrial design meets sculptural materiality. Through our own production and direct sales, we offer an exclusive and transparent process – from the first idea to the finished object in its environment.
Our philosophy
Good design is never random. It must be pursued with consistency – from the first sketch to the last detail. We are inspired by nature’s own systems, where repetition is never identical but always logical. Every line has a direction, every surface a function. When form, material and construction meet, objects emerge that carry their own inner logic and sculptural presence.
Our process
The work begins analogically – with sketches and physical models where volume, rhythm and proportions are explored by hand. As the concept takes shape, it is refined digitally, where industrial design and construction are integrated into one and the same process. Prototypes are developed, tested and adjusted in several stages until the object meets requirements for function, expression and long-term sustainability. The design studio is present throughout the chain, from idea to finished product.
Our materials
We work with materials that develop over time and carry their expression without cosmetics. Corten steel is our primary medium – a living steel that forms a durable, self-healing patina and gradually deepens in step with its environment. We choose raw and honest materials that harmonize with the color tones of nature and highlight the geometry of the objects. Nothing is hidden. Nothing is added unnecessarily. Just pure materiality.
Our objects
Our objects are designed as architectural statement pieces – as much sculpture as function. They are developed for entrances, patios and garden rooms where they create direction, structure and light. Through the combination of industrial precision and sculptural form, the objects grow into their surroundings and become a natural part of the whole, regardless of whether they stand solitary or in a group.
Our vision
We want to create timeless objects that deepen and refine outdoor environments. Our ambition is to build a collection where architecture, nature and materiality meet – and where industrial manufacturing methods interact with manual craftsmanship. Arkiv & Co will be a clear voice in contemporary Nordic industrial design, with a focus on consistency, formal integrity and sculptural presence.
